The title of my new series of work. It began with the four drawings/paintings on paper I have completed for the Australian exchange show: WIDE BAY/HIGH DESERT. Those drawings had to be about 'home' and the region in which I live. So, I had such a fine time doing them, I decided to continue the theme only with a broader context. My first painting is 24"x 24" using acrylic, oil pastel and wax water based crayons on a wooden panel. Title? Well, thanks to lyrics from a Glen Hansard song, it is: WHEN YOUR HEART IS STRONG. And, yes, he knows I use his lyrics often and he even likes the painting. Whew.
