I often see, online, placements of paintings in a home setting. So, though I normally work smaller than what I'm showing here, I have done a gazillion (well...) commissions to upsize my work. Think about it. And smile at my audacity.

When I get those commissions, it's usually for la de dah hotels around the world...but look how nice these look in a home setting. New work, older work....I do it all. Fun to make these setups and hope you enjoy them, too.

THE BOOK OF DAISY

Happy to announce that I had been asked to paint something to go with one of seven 'winning' essays for a book to be published by The Wonder Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The essay I painted to is called FOURTEEN and is a wonderful read about a woman's 14 year old daughter. Bright, 'blending' and a competitive swimmer who wears lavendar sunglasses for her 'blending' with other teens. This was a fun thing for me and a privilege to be selected to be one of the artists for painting by director of the Institute, Linda Durham...a wonder in herself.
THE BOOK OF DAISY is 24x24, acrylic, crayon and graphite on canvas and ready for purchase. Contact me if interested.

Sometimes I 'repaint' older pieces.

Whenever I am having a time in limbo with new work, I often take a look at older work that is calling to be upgraded. So, this past week, that's what I did with the two pieces below. Mainly I added more color. Better color.
Both paintings will be going to the Unsettled Gallery in Las Cruces as soon as the oil paint dries. With luck, next week. If you're in the area, stop in and view them and enjoy them and feel free to purchase one or both!
I should also let you know that these paintings (and a series of others you can see in the LATEST WORK part of my site) were inspired by Piet Mondrian's flower drawings and paintings.
First is SWEET REWARDS. (thank you, Bobby D .. Dylan, of course, for the title) 18x18" acrylic, charcoal graphite, crayon & oil on panel.

Next comes GHOSTS OF BEAUTIES. Another 18x18" acrylic, graphite, crayon, charcoal & oil on paper and mounted onto a panel.
