I believe this exhibit will be up in Bundaberg, Australia at CHARTS Center for the Arts and, at the same time, at Unsettled Gallery in Las Cruces, New Mexico, USofA, in August and September of this year. I have recently finished my two pieces that will be shipped to Australia and wanted to share them.
These are both 48"x 18" (or close). Neither of them are on stretcher bars and hang via grommet holes at the top corners of each canvas. These are acrylic on canvas. The DESERT WITCHING one came to be because my husband and I have both witched wells for neighbors and friends in NM and in California. Water isn't so easy to find in our drought ridden desert. TURQUOISE TRAIL deals with the color painted on door frames and window frames in New Mexico....a tradition to keep out evil spirits.
Hope you enjoy these and I'm even hoping they return from the AU show so I can show them in Santa Fe later in the year. Sell them? Me? haha. Let me know what you think of them if you please. And keep checking here now and again because sooner than later I'll also post the two pieces staying here in New Mexico for the combined exhibit.
It was a wonderful experience to be in the inaugural Wide Bay/High Desert show last year. I met some wonderful AU artists. One will even be back in the show this year and will stay with us for some nights. New artists are also in this year's exhibit and I'm anxious to meet them, too.
