Where to start? It's early May and a busy time. Just had an opening at the Las Cruces Museum of Art in a juried exhibition: HERE & NOW. I have two paintings in it...left is NO ILLUSIONS. NO REPLAYS. and on the right is BARNACLED WHITE. Both are 24x24" and acrylic and graphite on panels. Was so nice to have a stranger come up to me and tell me BARNACLED WHITE was his favorite piece int he entire 4,000 sq. ft. exhibition. Always nice to be appreciated for the work we do, eh? That show is up until July. Hope you get a chance to see it. A strong show it is and a number of Sierra County, NM artists are represented. Next up is an opening at Wheelhouse Art in Santa Fe on May 8th from 5-7pm. This is a show with my Santa Fe painter pal, Bill Sortino and two wonderful clay artists. Very excited about this show, too. I took up more work than would fit in 'my' area and let the gallery owner/director select pieces so anxious to see what is shown and what I bring home. The show: REDUCTION & FORM will be up through May 25th so get there (418 Montezuma Ave, Santa Fe, NM...just behind the Jean Cocteau Theatre). Or come to the opening so I can see you there.
I'm going to add some images that I'm hoping did, indeed, get hung in the show. The gallery owner, Joyce Stolaroff, a grand painter herself, does a brilliant job of hanging a show. Excited to see it.
